Eduardo Palazuelos

Eduardo Palazuelos is originally from Acapulco, Guerrero; he is one of the most outstanding chefs in the country. Born into a family that is synonymous with culinary excellence, Eduardo travelled the world at a very young age to discover different cultures and cuisines.

He studied hospitality in Switzerland at the Glion International Center and then went on to do graduate work at Cornell University in New York

He worked for the Four Season Olympic hotel in Seattle, also for the Marriot Royal Garden Riverside hotel in Bangkok in the Thai kitchen, collaborated with the banquet company Raynier et Marchetti, one of the most famous catering firms in Paris, France.

He is the chef owner of Restaurante Zibu in Acapulco, recognized by San Pellegrino and Culinaria Mexicana as one of the 120 best restaurants in Mexico for 5 years in a row. This restaurant has also been listed on "La Liste"; as one of the top one thousand restaurants in the world in 2018 and 2019. American Airlines recognized the Zibu on its prestigious "Platinum List"; as one of the top 5 star chef restaurants in the world in 2017.

Eduardo is also co-owner of Banquetes Palazuelos, a family business that serves Mexico's most exclusive clients and has served the last five presidents of the country.

Eduardo has received many awards as a professional chef, including an award from Mexican President Felipe Calderon in 2008 for the category of Restaurant Innovation. The "Pochteca de Plata"; award by the CDMX government in the category of 2014 Mexico City Chef of the Year. Recently he was recognized by Food and Travel magazine for his career in 2018 with the "Life Time Achievement Award".

Eduardo has also been requested by Discovery Channel where he made the program "Una aventura culinaria en Canada"; for Discovery TLC, the mini series "Rápido y sabroso", the "Jueves Exquisitos" and the cooking reality show "A Fuego Rápido" all of these for Discovery Home and Health.

Eduardo was chosen by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs as "Chef Ambassador" of the Mexican cuisine and is now part of the diplomatic corps of Mexican chefs, a select group of 22 chefs who are in charge of promoting the flavors of Mexico around the world.

Eduardo has performed in international festivals as Chef Ambassador of Mexican gastronomy in cities as remote as Madrid, Warsaw, Sydney, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Kuwait, London among others.

For 3 consecutive years he has been chosen as Chef in charge of attending the best players in the world during the WGC Mexico 2018, 2019 and 2020 event, attending more than 26,000 services in one week.

Eduardo is constantly sought after for product launches of brands such as United Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Johnie Walker Blue Label, Jaguar Landrover, Adecco Group, Mabe, among other large companies that consider him an important strategic ally to guarantee the quality of their events.

Eduardo carries out his social work with his movement called "Cocinando Un Mejor País" (Cooking a Better Country) which seeks to generate awareness around the current problems the country is experiencing in the area of food. He has given several talks in forums around the Republic in places like Mazatlan, CDMX, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Cancun, Guanajuato, among others, always with the objective of convincing people that we have everything to be a great country and that we can transform Mexico through gastronomy.
